Dear Reader,
🎶 It was the best of times, the worst of crimes

Melbourne’s shows were absolutely wild. Taylor Swift did indeed blow my mind 🤯 From a TTPD bonus edition announcement, fun Australian-themed moments, and arguably the best surprise songs of the entire tour, I am still recovering from all that happened.

Melbourne’s Surprise Songs

I was not expecting to witness (over livestream) the three best nights of surprise songs all in a row, but here we are! This is what went down during the Acoustic Set:
Melbourne N1: ❤️💙 Red and You’re Losing Me - The more I think about it, the more I find this combination *genius*. When “You’re Losing Me” first came out, I wondered when we could ever hear Taylor perform it live. Coming on the heels of the TTPD new variant announcement, it makes so much sense.
Melbourne N2: 🖤🩶💛🩶 Getaway Car x August x The Other Side Of The Door and this is my trying - An unprecedented three song mashup!!! I feel like we’re all trying to figure out the meaning behind this particular combination of songs (so interesting that August was included, when it’s already on the setlist). And Taylor’s performance of “this is my trying” is almost too heart-wrenching to watch - the ending especially 🥹
Melbourne N3: ❤️🩷💚 Come Back…Be Here x Daylight and Teardrops On My Guitar - I didn’t think anything could top the previous two nights of surprise songs. I was wrong 😭 Melbourne got another mashup. And I love the New York connection, from the nostalgia in “Come Back…Be Here” of missing someone in New York, to reuniting in “Daylight”.
Surprise Song Prediction Tracker (how many I’ve guessed correctly so far): 1/8 😅 I didn’t get any predictions right in Melbourne. But who could’ve guessed what Taylor would end up doing?!
