Dear Reader,

You can face this,
Screaming Long Live…🎶
I am still screaming after the surprise songs we heard in Lisbon - “You’re On Your Own, Kid” mashed up with “Long Live”?!?! So so many tears 😭 I don’t know how Taylor does it, but somehow every show seems to one-up the last one. I’m so excited to see what she does in the upcoming shows! But first, let’s go over all the magical moments from Nights 1 and 2 in Lisbon.

Lisbon’s Surprise Songs: An Overview

Since Paris N1, the surprise song sets have just been getting better and better. Going into Lisbon’s shows, I wasn’t sure how Taylor would top the triple mashups and songs like “Peter” and “How Did It End?” that she gave us in Stockholm. But then she pulled out “The Way I Loved You”, and “Long Live” 😱 We have been grieving “Long Live” ever since we lost it from the setlist. So when she started singing it in the middle of “You’re On Your Own, Kid” - words cannot describe the emotions, but I know you get it 😭
Here’s what went down during the Acoustic Set in Lisbon:
Lisbon N1 on guitar: Come Back…Be Here x The Way I Loved You x The Other Side Of The Door - we have been waiting what feels like forever for Taylor to perform “The Way I Loved You”. Night 1 in Lisbon she finally did. I personally would’ve loved to hear it on its own, but that triple mashup with the outro from “The Other Side Of The Door” added to the end?! So in love (that I acted insane).
Lisbon N1 on piano: Fresh Out The Slammer x High Infidelity - I genuinely thought Taylor was going to finish singing “Fresh Out The Slammer” without adding a mashup. And I was completely fine with that. I love when we get to hear a song in full, especially one’s we haven’t heard before. But her transition into “High Infidelity” was too good! And it fit the theme of the whole surprise song set a bit alarming well.
Lisbon N2 on guitar: The Tortured Poets Department x Now That We Don’t Talk - We got the title track of TTPD, but mashed up with a 1989 (Taylor’s Version) vault track fav!
Lisbon N2 on piano: You’re On Your Own, Kid x Long Live - No words, just so so many tears 😭 Two Swiftie anthems, combined into a beautiful story of a mashup.
