Swiftie September Dates
For the first time in what feels like awhile, we’ve come to a a quieter month for Swifties. Taylor Swift is on a much deserved break from The Eras Tour, meaning life is just a bit less crazy for us as well. But there are still some important events not to miss and lots of anniversaries to celebrate!
The big event of the September calendar is probably the VMAs on the 11th. It’s not yet confirmed whether Taylor will be at the show, but she often has been in the past. In fact, in 2022 Taylor actually announced her 10th studio album Midnights at the VMAs. As a result, and because there’s always clowning going on, some think Taylor could announce Reputation (Taylor’s Version) at this year’s VMAs. I’m not convinced, but of course will be watching the broadcast regardless!
September also marks the start of the American football season. Like I did last season, I added the Chiefs’ games to the calendar, in case Taylor might make an appearance at any of them. Last year she made it to many games to support Travis, so it’s very possible she could be at some.
This month features the anniversary of loads of favorite singles - “Getaway Car” from Reputation, “Ronan” from Red, “Our Song” from Debut, and “Love Story” from Fearless. Which one is your favorite? And if you didn’t think that “Getaway Car” was a single, don’t worry, you’re not going crazy. It was a single, released only in Australia and New Zealand right before the Reputation Stadium Tour came to them in October/November 2018.
Finally, the production of Romeo + Juliet kicks off at the end of the month, starring Kit Connor and Rachel Zegler. You may wonder what that has to do with Taylor Swift - well, it’s a bit of a Swiftie adjacent event. But I figured since it’s a quieter month, and as Jack Antonoff is such a huge part of the Swiftie multiverse, this should be included because he wrote the music for the production.
What are you most excited about happening this month? Are you clowning for a Reputation TV announcement? Or anything else? Let me know in the comments!
September Swiftie Playlist
A playlist to help your transition from summer to fall 🌞🍁
My September 2023 Swiftie playlist was actually the first Swiftie playlist I ever created and shared, and I’m still so proud of it. I tweaked it ever so slightly for this month, and it’s one of my favorite transition playlists - as I listen to it, I feel like the music takes me from the warm haze of late summer into the chill of early autumn.
This September Swiftie Playlist starts off with the version of “august” from the long pond studio sessions. If you haven’t listened to the long pond studio sessions, please do! The whole collection is stunning and I adore the vibes of the album and this song. It’s different from the original version of “august” on folklore and fits the feeling of the end of summer so well, making it perfect for the start of September.
From august slipping away into a moment of time, we get to “sweet tea” in the summer and the “afterglow” of the end of a season, with it getting “colder and colder when the sun goes down”. We wake up and find “that summer gone” and then it’s time to go back to school, embracing those “So High School” feels. With windows “flung right open” to get that “autumn chill that wakes me up”, we can embrace “new Septembers” (marking the VMAs especially). And then we’re jumping and falling into autumn to finally end with a classic to kickstart Swiftie season that we know “All Too Well”.
You can listen to my September Swiftie Playlist on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and YouTube. There’s no separate clean version this month cause this month it wasn’t needed!

Mary’s Song (Oh My My My) Mashup
For September I’m sharing another throwback of two Timeless songs, perfect for the start of (American) football season. With everything going on lately, I haven’t been able to share new mashups. I’ve got some in the works, but in the meantime I also love going back and pulling out mashups I created and shared in the past.
In case you missed it, and/or would love to hear it again, here’s a mashup I did of Mary’s Song (Oh My My My) with Timeless (Taylor’s Version). The two songs go so well together, and the 87 and 89 lyric at the end has become extra special this past year 🫶

“the last great american dynasty” Key Lime Pies
I have a lot of fun trying to decide on what featured recipe to share in every month’s newsletter. There were a number I considered for September, but especially after going to the Eras Tour as “Rebekah”, I thought I’d hang onto summer a bit longer with these “the last great american dynasty” Key Lime Green Pies. To make them, all you need are 9 simple plant-based ingredients - I hope you have a marvelous time making them if you try the recipe out!
Coming Up
I’ve had the time of my life in London this past month, getting to see Taylor at the Eras Tour, exploring all the Swiftie happenings in the city, revisiting favorite spots, and catching up with dear friends. Unfortunately I got covid towards the end of my trip (I think I got it from the Eras Tour, but it was so so worth it), and ended up having to postpone my flight back to the US. I’m finally feeling better and soaking up my final few days in London! I’m a bit behind on sharing content, but I have sooo many Eras Tour highlights and surprise songs to share with you. Keep an eye out for that and more this upcoming month!
